Job Summary

Responsible for creating reports and dashboards for clients and Lyndon Group personnel related to SAP Concur Travel, Expense and/or Invoice as assigned by project management. Successful Reporting Specialists must be able to independently complete projects, and can serve multiple clients simultaneously, in different industries, across different regions, with the capability to create custom and semi-custom reports.  

Excellent communication skills are needed to listen to and understand client requirements and convey questions and results to project resources. The Reporting Specialist has heavy experience in a fast-paced environment, who is not easily distracted by volume or deadlines.

Must display a high degree of professionalism, respect and transparency toward clients, Firm management, colleagues, partners and others when performing job duties.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

Firm-Related

 1.     Assist and support staff on client calls to answer reporting questions and assist with estimated hours to complete, as needed

 2.     Accurately plan client/project reporting needs in a timely manner as directed by senior or project management

 3.     For all assigned reporting projects, provide status to management, as needed, and address any issues as necessary

4.     Ensure adherence to best-practice Firm reporting and data management methodology and standards

 5.     Maintain a high degree of familiarity with Firm methodologies, policies and practices

Project-Specific

1.     Serve as the primary reporting resource for client projects and internal Lyndon Group projects, communicating as needed to ensure appropriate information sharing and follow through

2.     Architect, code and deliver solutions using IBM Cognos and Tableau

3.     Understand client business issues to ensure Firm staff are provided with analytical reports and the delivery of comprehensive solutions

4.     Understand business goals/needs while utilizing IBM Cognos and Tableau to ingest and analyze large amounts of data

5.     Ensure reports and dashboards are customized to meet Firm and/or project objectives and scope

6.     Participate in client calls, as needed (e.g., client request, reporting issues, etc.)

7.     Understand how to transform findings into actionable business opportunities

 

Job knowledge, skills & experience

Minimum job content knowledge required for this position

1.     Excellent communication skills (oral and written), cross functional experience and strong interpersonal skills

2.     Knowledge and experience with IBM Cognos and Business Intelligence solutions, Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server

3.     Familiarity with Concur Travel, Expense and Invoice a plus

4.     MS SQL Server skills are a plus

5.     Thorough understanding of data usage, including data reporting and analysis

6.     Demonstrated understanding of the relationship between data and actionable analysis

7.     Strategic thinking, analytical, detail oriented with excellent problem-solving skills and strong work ethic

8.     Ability to work on a high performing team focused on accurate results and tight timelines

9.     Knowledge of development life cycles

10.   Ability to work collaboratively and demonstrate effective teamwork and leadership

11.   Ability to work autonomously, proactively and effectively in a fast-paced environment

Minimum experience required for this position

Minimum of 3 - 5 years’ work experience creating reports and data visualization and dashboards, preferably with travel and spend management programs

Minimum formal education required for this position

BA/BS degree and/or advanced degree, or equivalent, with an emphasis on Computer Science or similar (preferred)
